Luhrs has long been known for building well-engineered, dependable sportfishing boats - and the 280 Express is a prime example. With its deep-V hull, wide beam, and practical layout, this model delivers both offshore performance and comfortable coastal cruising.

The layout is ideal for Southern California fishing - equally suited for day runs to the islands or extended weekend trips. The open cockpit provides plenty of space for gear and action, while the fishing tower offers excellent visibility for spotting kelp paddies or navigating open water. Below, the cabin is compact but well-equipped, featuring a functional galley, convertible berth, and enclosed head - comfortable accommodations for up to four.

“Tailchaser III” represents a proven hull with strong fundamentals, ready for a new owner to enjoy as-is or further personalize. Solid construction, twin Yanmar diesels, and practical design make her a reliable platform for fishing or coastal cruising.

In 2024, Tailchaser III received fresh bottom paint, new shaft seals, and a new set of bronze props - ensuring she’s ready for her next adventure.
